Prime Minister Modi declares that all public funds that have been embezzled must be reimbursed, as I-T operations targeting Congressman Dhiraj Sahu reveal ₹300 crores. On Friday, December 8, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that every penny that the public has been looted will be returned. He was making reference to reports of Income Tax raids on Congressman Dhiraj Sahu, during which more than Rs 300 crores worth of cash were taken.

PM Modi asked people to look at the pictures and then listen to the speeches of opposition leaders by posting a picture of the first page of the Hindi daily Dainik Jagaran, which included the report and pictures of the cash piles. “The countrymen should look at the pile of these notes and then listen to the honest’speeches’ of their leaders,” he tweeted in Hindi.

He continued by promising that his government would retrieve all of the money that had been stolen from the people. He continued, saying, “Modi guarantees that every penny that has been taken from the public will have to be returned.”

In the tweet, PM Modi included multiple emojis, as he has been doing since the results of the assembly election.

Remarkably, the Income Tax Department raided Boudh Distilleries Private Limited (BDPL) in Odisha and Jharkhand on Thursday, December 7. Dhiraj Sahu, an MP for the Jharkhand Congress, is allegedly associated with this company. The authorities are still conducting the raid because they have found so much cash that it is taking a long time to count. Over Rs 300 crores worth of cash are reportedly taken in this raid.

The amount of cash seized during simultaneous raids at the MP’s locations in Ranchi, Lohardaga, and Odisha was so large that trucks were required to transport it to the bank.

The home of Jharkhand-based Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu, who is allegedly connected to multiple alcohol companies, was raided by IT detectives. Cash-filled almirahs were apparently found at locations connected to the MP in Ranchi and Lohardaga. At Sambalpur, Bolangir, Titilagarh, Boudh, Sundargarh, Rourkela, and Bhubaneswar, raids were also conducted concurrently.
