In the Champions League quarterfinals, Real Madrid defeated RB Leipzig thanks to a combination of Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, despite the Blancos’ carelessness.

Despite a 1-1 draw, Madrid advanced thanks to the dynamic combination of Carlo Ancelotti, who helped the team overcome a disappointing European performance at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid turned to their star players when everything else failed; on Wednesday night, a 2-1 aggregate victory over RB Leipzig sent an otherwise disappointing Madrid team to the Champions League round of eight. Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. scored a pivotal goal together.

Within 20 minutes, Lois Openda had two squandered opportunities after twice cutting in behind Los Blancos’ high line and then mishandling his attempts. Just before halftime, he missed a third attempt.

For their part, Real didn’t do anything in the first forty-five minutes. Five midfielders were used by manager Carlo Ancelotti, and as a result, Madrid appeared inevitably labored. During the interval, Ancelotti introduced Rodygo, and something magical happened. Bellingham marched confidently into the last area and found Vinicius, who sliced his finish past the stumbling goalie.

Leipzig equalized right away as Willi Orban placed a wonderful header in the bottom corner to complete the comeback. The visitors had further opportunities as Openda came near once more and Xavi Simons’ effort was superbly stopped by Antonio Rudiger. They were still unable to find the net, and Madrid managed to survive.

Defense & Goalkeeper

Andriy Lunin (5 out of 10)

had to make many crucial stops during the first half. was powerless to stop Leipzig’s goal.

Carvajal Dani (7/10):

Frequently the player who advances the furthest in the initial stages. After that, he assumed his regular role and appeared much better.

Antonio  Rudiger (7 out of 10):

blocked a shot by Xavi Simons that looked like it would go in, and they celebrated with the right amount of fervor.

Nacho (score of 6/10):

steady in the rear. kept the ball well and was available when needed.

Ferland Mendy (5 out of 10):

dragged a little by Leipzig’s cunning attackers. wasn’t putting out his best tackle, either.
